Honolulu Attractions

Honolulu is known for its lovely beaches and hot weather, but there is a lot more to do then that as there are plenty of excellent Honolulu attractions which travelers can visit during their vacation. The beaches would be a good start, but once you’re crisp from the hot sun you may want to go indoors for a little bit and check out the many different attractions Honolulu has to offer.

The Honolulu travel guide has compiled a list of some on the popular tourist attractions, so if you’re travelling to Honolulu be sure to check these Honolulu attractions out.

» Waikiki Beach

Tourists have been visiting this beach since the 1950’s and has been one of the leading Honolulu attractions ever since. Although it’s been taken over by hotels and skyscrapers, its still one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

The Waikiki beach is lined with gorgeous palm trees and the waves that come into shore are magnificent. Come night there is an active party atmosphere in and around the Waikiki area, so if you’re looking to wind down after a long day at the beach there is plenty of opportunity for that.

» Pearl Harbour

With what went down in Pearl Harbour so many years ago, it’s still one of the most visited areas in the whole country. It was tragic when it happened and it was a huge part in American history forever.

There is a visitor centre and memorial area for tourists to visit, both are free to see. The area brings in huge crowds daily; you can choose to go with yourself or with one of the many tour companies that offer tours at Pearl Harbour.

» Diamond Head State Monument

This area is a huge crater in a volcano, you can take a 761 foot summit through the volcano any time. Admission is free for anyone but the gates shut at 6:00pm so be there before then. The hike takes about an hour to complete.

The Honolulu travel guide suggest wearing proper footwear, and clothing. You may want to bring a flashlight to navigate through the tunnel systems, as it can get quite dark in them. Once you complete the summit you can see a 360 degree view of the gorgeous O’ahu.

There are a million more things you could do while in Honolulu, but it would take weeks to list them all on a list. You should be sure to visit Waikiki Beach if it’s the only thing you do while in Honolulu. It’s an amazing beach, and the water is spectacular.
